Database Print
The database contains biographies of learned scholars of the Holy Roman Empire dating from 1250 to 1550.
Up until now the information has been collected from university sources, i.e. matriculas, graduation lists and documents of the university nations. The biographies include data concerning matriculation, graduation and – if available – geographic and, although at the moment fragmentary, social origin. For the state of work see the according heading below.

As soon as the collection of data on the studies of the scholars is completed, the research focus will turn to their careers.

If you have corrections, additions, or suggestions concerning the biographies, we would be glad to receive them. Regarding learned scholars who reached a graduation before 1450, please contact the working group in Gießen, for those thereafter, the group in Berne.
